As its name indicates, MakeGIF is and useful creator, optimizer and converter of .gif files from the command line. Batch mode is supported. This program will be a great help to do your job quickly, since it’s a visual command line processor. Among many other things, you’ll note that this program is really useful for three main tasks. You’ll be able to create .gif and animated .gif to use in your sites and web applications or, why not, to customize your cell phone screens. Also, you will convert you images in batch mode really fast. But maybe the most interesting feature of MakeGIF, is that will allow you to protect your gifs using hidden signatures, to prevent unauthorized use. It runs on Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Vista.

Is an easy-to-use software that allows you to read and convert images created by numerous programs, among them, the MS Paint and Adobe Photoshop. We don’t include here the long list of programs that MakeGIF is compatible with, because the important thing that you have to know is that MakeGIF can create .gif files from PSD, JPG, BMP, PNG, ICO, PCX, TGA, EMF and WMF images. Also, you’ll be able to upload .gif files and optimize them to smaller size.

To start, you’ll load (in batch mode) the images to create your gif. Then, you’ll be able to rotate them, edit them, define colors and transparencies, interlace them, and set several parameters until they look like you wish. After that, you only have to set the animation parameters, such as loops number and transition times. Once you’ve finished, you can save your gif files or export them to JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG and TGA. Remember that, in case you need it, you can protect the files with hidden signatures.

While MakeGIF’s principal advantage is to be a visual command line processor, however you can use the Batch mode, which allows you to create GIFs from command line. In help file of program you'll find an explanation about the right syntax to use and some examples you can review.
